The ADASCIS project is a 2 years research project financed by the Belgian Scientific Policy.

The objective of the project is to use the Earth observation tools to improve the natural risk management within the framework of the calamities Funds and the crop insurances schemes.

In order to achieve this goal three scientific partners (CRAW, Ulg, VITO) and the SPF Economy decide to put their knowledge together to develop an a crop damage assessment information service that will enable users to evaluate the damage caused within the cultures.

Expected results:

  • A set of relevant crop risk indices to estimate crop damages
  • An agrometeorological database to estimate the levels of risks and damages.
  • A system that will allow quantifying and visualizing different indicators and risk factors on maps
